GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- A shoplifting investigation led Gainesville police to an improvised explosive device in a teenager's home.
Police say 18-year-old Mason Scott Beuning was caught stealing BB's, flare guns and other items at a Walmart in Gainesville.
They say those items could be used to make explosive devices.
Walmart staff held Beuning and his alleged accomplice, 18-year-old Wolf Meara, until police arrived.
When police searched Beuning's home, they say they found the homemade explosive devices.
Beuning has been charged with possessing a destructive device, which is a third-degree felony.
