ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- Lilly Ann Chavez, the daughter of Barbara Parchem -- whose remains were discovered April 30 -- was arrested on Friday.

Chavez, 43, was arrested by the St. Johns County Sheriff's office and faces two charges of possession of a weapon by a felon.

According to First Coast News' partner The Florida Times-Union, in January 2009 Chavez was sentenced to two years in prison on drug charges, trafficking in stolen property and fraud charges.

In April, Chavez spoke to First Coast News about her missing mother.

Parchem's remains were discovered in in the woods in Flagler Estates in Northern Flagler County Tuesday.

The death was ruled a homicide by police.

According to the St. John's County Medical Examiner's Office, Parchem's death was caused by blunt force trauma.

Parchem, 67, was missing for more than three weeks before her body was discovered.

On Tuesday the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office said it was pursuing a 'person of interest' but had not released a statement naming the person.

The Sheriff's Office has not said if this arrest is connected to Parchem's murder investigation.

Chavez is being held on a $400,000 bond.
