Couple allegedly admits to Columbia County burglary

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. - Two suspects accused of breaking into an outdoors store and taking fishing and archery equipment, have been taken into custody.

About two weeks after Green's Marine was burglarized, the suspects in the case, Ira and Brandi Thompson, walked into the Columbia County Sheriff's Office wanting to speak with deputies, according to a release from the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

Ira, 39 and 33-year-old Brandi Thompson allegedly admitted to burglarizing Green's Marine in an interview with deputies, the release detailed.

Following the alleged confession, CCSO deputies, with the help of the Baker County Sheriff's Office, recovered several items allegedly stolen from Green's Marine at the Thompson's home.

The Thompson's also allegedly provided deputies with information on a hunting camp located in Charlton County, Georgia where investigators were able to recover archery equipment allegedly stolen from Green's Marine.

Additionally, a four-wheeler and seven firearms were also recovered from the camp. Deputies believe the additional items may belong to other burglary victims in Baker County.

The Thompson's were charged with burglary, grand theft and criminal mischief charges and were booked into the Columbia County Jail. The pair also faces charges in Baker County and Charlton County Georgia.
