JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Florida Comprehensive Assessment Testing will be delayed at LaVilla School of the Arts on Monday due to the shooting death of a 13-year-old student at the school.

Titiana Mitchell was found shot and killed at a home in the 11000 block of Riverstone Way on Saturday.

Superintendent Nikolai Vitti said in a statement that the Florida Department of Education granted his request that FCAT testing at the school be delayed until Tuesday.

Vitti also said grief counselors will be available to students. The statement said in part:

"We've learned that the victim in yesterday's shooting was indeed one of our students, Titania Mitchell, from LaVilla School of the Arts. This is a great loss that we share with the Mitchell family. The incident has weighed on us since we received the news and our continued prayers are directed to the student, family, and community. In an effort to comfort the students and faculty members directly affected by such an enormous tragedy, we have assigned grief counselors and related services to support them. In addition, I requested to delay the start of FCAT testing until Tuesday and the request was approved by the FDOE."
