BAKER COUNTY, Fla. -- Baker County High School's head football coach Ryan Sulkowski has been put on a 10-day suspension.
Principal Tom Hill confirmed the suspension to First Coast News on Thursday. Hill did not directly speak to the cause for or the terms of the suspension.
Hill then said that any further details of the suspension would have to
be given by the school district's communication director.
First Coast News attempted to contact school district officials, however the district is on spring break this week.
According to our news partner The Florida Times-Union, Sulkowski was suspended after using a school district issued credit card to purchase alcoholic beverages at dinner.
"Basically it's a lesson, it wasn't anything malicious, nothing that I
was trying to pull over anybody eyes," Sulkowski told The Times-Union. "I was honest in
everything. It just was, once again, a mistake. You tell the kids
there's consequences to your actions. My actions, whether it's
unintentional or anything else, it doesn't matter. It happened."
First Coast News reached out to Sulkowski for comment but has not yet heard back.
