JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man who was fatally shot at a Walmart on Tuesday night has been identified by police.
Anthony Blake Bannister, 20, was shot at Walmart at 8808 Beach Boulevard, according to a release from Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Melissa Bujeda.
Bannister was transported to Shands Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries and later died.
Police told First Coast News on Tuesday night that Bannister's friend said that he drove Bannister in a silver Chevy Impala to the Kangaroo gas station at Southside and Hogan to call 911 after the shooting.
This is the second murder in this area this month. On the February 15, a man was found dead with a head wound behind a coin laundry store at Beach and Southside Boulevard.

"No matter where you go, you're not safe," said nearby resident Jim Combie, who often shops at this Walmart. "You always have to have your guard up, even when you go shopping."
Cumbi, a retired sailor and federal police officer, said he shops at the Walmart often and is definitely on guard at all times.
"If I see a crowd gathering around a car, I will wait until it disburses and then go shopping."
Coral Reid grew up in Jacksonville and has lived here more than 50 years and also shops at the Walmart.
"You kind of have to be on your guard, no matter where you go, no matter what time of day or night it is. It seems more and more people are settling disputes with guns instead of the old way, a fist fight on the playground."
