JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A brush fire closed a portion of St. Johns Bluff Road on Tuesday.
St Johns Bluff Road was closed southbound between Adlen Road and Beach Blvd., according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. As of 3 p.m., both Northbound lanes were open. As of 6:30 p.m., the road opened back up.
The Jacksonville Fire Rescue Department was on scene with multiple trucks battling the blaze.
Traffic was heavy in the area due to low lying smoke, according to Tom Francis with JFRD.
The fire was in an area in the middle of St. Johns Bluff Rd., Alden Rd, Beach Blvd., and Cortez Ave., according to Francis.
