JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A two-vehicle accident on Interstate 95 southbound at the exit ramp to Golfair Boulevard closed two lanes of traffic shortly before noon.
An SUV was overturned in the inside lane of the interstate and the second car crashed into the inside wall. Two people involved in the accident were transported by Jacksonville Fire Rescue to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating the accident.
A witness to the accident told First Coast News the driver of the SUV started to exit onto Golfair Boulevard, then appeared to decide to get back on the interstate. The driver over-corrected according to the witness and headed toward the middle barrier and rolled over after striking it.
The witness says the other car, which had a New York license plate, crashed trying to avoid the rolling SUV.
The crash slowed traffic southbound for more than an hour.
