JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Walmart employee is facing a charge of employee theft - $10,000-$19,999 after she sold several phones at the new customer rate instead of the full retail value.
Deloria McClain, 22, an electronics sales associate of Walmart at City Square Dr., was arrested Wednesday.
According to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office report, McClain would make sales transactions of cell phones at the new customer rate versus the full retail value to various individuals who posed as legitimate customers.
McClain wrote a statement stating that a man only known as "Celep" offered to compensate her in the form of money if she completed these transactions and said that during the time frame she completed these transactions, she was recieved $650-$700 for doing them.
The total loss for Walmart is approximately $18,100, according to the JSO report. McClain was released Thursday afternoon on a bond of $5,000.
