JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- A possible abduction Thursday morning in Jacksonville Beach turned out to be an argument between a teen and her mother over a cell phone.
Officers originally responded to the intersection of 8th Street North and 1st Avenue North after a witness reported seeing a possible abduction. Sergeant Tommy Crumley, Public Information Officer with the Jacksonville Beach Police Department, said a woman called police around 6:45 Thursday morning after she reportedly saw a girl being forced into a car while yelling for help.
Crumley said a man, who has not been identified, called the Jacksonville Beach Police Department after seeing the reports of the possible abduction on the news.
The man told police his daughter and her mother became involved in an argument after the daughter's cell phone was taken away.
While on their way to Fletcher High school, the girl got out of the car.
When she did, her mother pulled her back into the car.
Her father eventually took the girl to Fletcher High School.
Crumley said no charges will be filed in the incident.
