JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Power has been restored following a rush hour crash that took down three lines at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Cortez Road.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office rerouted traffic after a van hit a power pole around 8:10 a.m. Thursday morning.
The single car crash knocked three power lines off the pole, but did not take down the pole itself.
According to JEA's website, approximately 1,200 homes were without power due to the downed lines. The power outage also affected traffic lights in the area, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. Traffic lights from St. Johns Bluff Road to Anniston Road were out for over an hour.
JEA sent two crews, made up of 8 bucket trucks, to restore power to the area.
