JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A University of North Florida student was released from Shands Jacksonville and is recovering at home from the injuries he sustained in a New Year's Day wreck that killed another student, according to Randy Kusiv.

Krusiv's daughter Dara Kusiv died in an accident on the Southside, when a Dodge Ram truck she and three other UNF students were riding in hit a large overhead sign post, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Jacob Materia, 19, Dara's boyfriend was released from the hospital. The driver of the Dodge Ram, 20-year-old Sean Franke, is no longer listed as a patient at Shands Jacksonville.

Samantha Kasten, 19, remains in critical condition at Shands Jacksonville.

A candlelight vigil for Dara is being hosted by the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority on January 12 at 7 p.m. at the Coxwell Ampitheatre on the university's campus.
