JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Homicide Detectives say the victim of a home invasion robbery on the Westside hid in the woods for hours before they arrived.
Police at the scene said they called homicide detectives when officers discovered a large amount of blood near a manufactured home in the 8000 block of Vining St. near 103rd St. and Old Middleburg Rd.
Officers were at the home investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred Monday night.
While detectives were at the home investigating, the victim of the home invasion robbery walked out of the woods. Detectives said the man told them he had been hiding in the woods since around 2 a.m. and walked out once he saw police.
The blood at the home was from a cut on the man's arm.
Emergency personnel transported the man, whose name has not been released, to a local hospital to be treated for the cut, which police said does not appear to be a life-threatening injury.
