JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating an altercation that happened in the parking lot near Discount Tire and Lowe's on Philips Highway.

Two groups pulled up in the lot around 9 p.m. and during the altercation, shots were fired, according to Sgt. Jay LaDue with JSO.

One person was hit in the hand and has non-life-threatening injuries. Several suspects were detained.

None of the nearby businesses were involved in the incident.
