JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man is in stable condition after he had to be extracted from his van after hitting another vehicle.
According to police, the white passenger van was traveling eastbound on Commonwealth Avenue around 2:30 p.m.
The van then ran a red light and struck a four-door black Mercedes traveling southbound on N. Edgewood Avenue. The van then spun around and ended up on its side facing west.
The driver of the van had to be extracted after the van was crumpled. The driver of the Mercedes had no injuries and was able to walk out of the vehicle on his own.
There were no passengers in either vehicle. Police were rerouting traffic at the intersection due to debris in the road from the accident.
