JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Thursday a federal grand jury indicted a 28-year-old man on five counts of receiving child pornography and one count of transportation of child pornography.
William Douglas Smith, III, could face a mandatory minimum of not less than 5 years, up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted on each of the counts, according to a news release from United States Attorney Robert E. O'Neill's office.
O'Neill said authorities arrested Smith December 20.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigated the case against Smith, O'Neill said.
United States Attorneys Kelly S. Karase and D. Rodney Brown are prosecuting the case.
