JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Florida Department of Transportation road crews will close two lanes of I-10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
That is if the weather doesn't take a turn for the worse. Mike Goldman, Public Information Officer for the Jacksonville FDOT office, said the work was originally scheduled for Thursday. Unfavorable weather caused them to move it to Friday, Goldman said.
CHECK JACKSONVILLE TRAFFIC
Crews will close two westbound lanes on I-10 near the Marietta exit, which is exit number 355.
The closure is to make emergency pavement repairs.
Goldman said daytime closures are necessary because crews need warm temperatures in order for the pavement to cure properly.
CHECK WEATHER CONDITIONS IN YOUR AREA
Motorists should expect to experience traffic delays.
Goldman said if the weather conditions do not improve by Friday morning then they will reschedule the work to be done at a later date. There is no word yet on when that closure would occur if it becomes necessary.
