JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville Fire and Rescue fire truck failed to slow Saturday causing an accident with two other vehicles on Beach Boulevard east of Spring Glen Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
FHP says the fire truck, a Pierce Dash, was traveling westbound on Beach Boulevard in the right lane behind a Dodge Durango and Dodge Caravan. When both the pickup and minivan stopped due to traffic congestion.
The driver of the fire engine, Thomas Harmon, 45, failed to slow his vehicle enough to avoid a collision, causing the front of it to make contact with the rear of the Durango.
The force of the impact caused the front of the pickup to make contact with the rear of the minivan.
Minor injuries were reported to one of the passengers inside of the Caravan.
Harmon was charged with failure to use due care.
