JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man wanted for allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend surrendered to police Friday morning.

Police were looking for Wright after an argument between him and his ex-girlfriend 24-year-old Rolisha Thomas turned deadly Thanksgiving afternoon.

Police said the two were arguing in the 1100 block of Almeda Street Thursday after Thomas told Wright she was breaking up with him.

JSO Homicide Sergeant Shawn Coursey said several shots were fired by Wright, hitting Thomas.  Emergency crews rushed the woman to Shands Jacksonville but she did not survive.

Wright was released from prison in April of this year after he served three years for burglary.

Wright is being held without bond at the Duval County Jail.  He is charged with possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon, murder, aggravated assault with intent to commit with a felony and driving without a driver's license.
