JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The investigation continues into who killed Sherry Lee Prather, 43.
Bones found were just identified as hers Tuesday, after being discovered last week.
The remains were found near the 12600 block of Braddock Road while detectives were following up on a lead in a missing persons case.
"I lay here night after night and it's like a nightmare over and over and over," said Daniel Dollison, Prather's fiance. "I just knew it was her, but I didn't want to believe it was her."
Dollison said he was told Tuesday morning.
"I see the pain that she may of went through and the struggle that she went through," Dollison said. "I know my baby was a fighter and I know she didn't go down easy."
Family members reported Prather missing in October. She was last seen at the Boots and Bottle Tavern on New Berlin Road at Friday, October 12. Witnesses told police they saw Prather talking with two men sitting on motorcycles in the parking lot around 2:20 a.m.
Melissa Bujeda, Public Information Officer for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, said homicide detectives suspect foul play in Prather's death.
