JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Homicide detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office are investigating bones found off a Northwest Jacksonville road.
Sergeant Jay Farhat, with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit, said the missing persons unit was following up on a lead on Braddock Court and found bones.
The street is located near I-295 and Dunn Avenue on Jacksonville's Northwest side.
Farhat said detectives are waiting for the Medical Examiner's office to determine if the bones are human.
Police are not identifying who the missing person is or what the lead is they were following up on.
Farhat said police are continuing their investigation but that there will most likely not be additional information released Wednesday afternoon.
