JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- In the past, many pet owners would hang posters or desperately call neighbors, but now, there are new methods of finding lost pets: an Amber Alert -- for your pet.
There are websites where you can list your missing pet or post a found one, and some will even make an automated phone call to your neighbors about your missing pet.
Fernandina Beach pet owner, Tanya Street, lost her dog in April and used the site, www.lostmydoggie.com. She says the sites just make sense.
"We all have our emergency vet numbers in case the dog gets bit by a snake at 11:00 at night, but we don't have anything for lost animals," she said.

Street found her dog the next day, but says people did contact her through the site, trying to help.
