JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is hoping a surveillance picture will help lead them to whoever stole a gun after breaking into a car at a Southside apartment complex.
Police received a report of the burglary the morning of Thursday, November 1, according to a news release from Shannon Hartley, Public Information Officer for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Hartley said when officers arrived at the Sonoma Southside Condominiums at 7740 Southside Blvd., the victim told them someone broke into his car. The man told police whoever broke in took his laptop computer, a checkbook and a firearm.
A short time after the burglary, Hartley said someone tried to deposit one of the stolen checks at a local ATM.
