JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Tuesday morning the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced an arrest had been made in the murder of Kim Dorsey, the wife of a Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department firefighter.
Tuesday police announced they arrested 31-year-old Lance Kirkpatrick, charging him with Dorsey's murder.
October 28 Dorsey's husband found her dead in their Highland Glen home after returning from working a 24-hour shift, Melissa Bujeda Public Information Officer for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
According to Kirkpatrick's arrest report, detectives learned during their investigation he used to live at the Dorsey's home.
When police interviewed Dorsey Tuesday, he admitted he went to Dorsey's home October 27. The report said Kirkpatrick told detectives he knocked on the door but nobody answered so he left. When police asked him additional questions, the report said Kirkpatrick said he didn't want to answer anymore questions.
Police arrested Lance Kirkpatrick and transported him to the Duval Country Pretrial Detention Facility. He is being held there and is ineligible to receive bond.
