CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in a crash August 9th.

According to FHP, Patsy Ralph Simeoli was driving a Honda Accord south on Russell Road in Clay County around 5:30 a.m. August 9.

A witness told investigators an oncoming vehicle crossed into Simeoli's path.  Simeoli took evasive action to avoid the head-on collision.  The evasive action caused him to run off the road and hit a tree.

FHP said the northbound vehicle is described as a dark colored mid-sized passenger.  It will not have damage as a result of the crash since the two never collided with each other.

Simeoli, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at Orange Park Medical Center, according to FHP.

Anyone with information about this crash is asked to contact the Jacksonville Highway Patrol at 904-695-4000.
