Identification still needs to be made by the Medical Examiner in Jacksonville, according to a release from Mary Justino with the CCSO. At this time, the cause of death is unknown until the medical examiner makes a determination.
The remains were found on Sunday afternoon by new property owners in the 6300 block of County Road 352. Law enforcement responded and recovered the remains and evidence, Justino said.
According to the initial missing persons report, Cooper's father Dale reported him missing on April 13, 2009. Dale had last seen his son on April 9, 2009 but spoke to him from work on April 10, 2009. Zachary told his father he was running away from home. His father told Zachary not to leave until he got there and when Dale got home, Zachary was gone.
