PALATKA, Fla. -- The Putnam County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance with a murder investigation.
Jim Curry III, 34, was found with a gunshot wound on Hudson Street behind Palatka Mall, according to a release from Deputy Paula Priester of the PCSO.
Police said Curry was riding his bicycle shortly before he was shot.
Curry was transported to the Putnam Community Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
The shooting occurred between 6 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Deputies are looking for individuals that may have seen Curry riding his bike near the mall around that time, according to the release.
Hancel Woods with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said, "We feel anyone who could possibly have seen that, even though they thought it wasn't important, 'How important could me seeing a guy riding by on a bicycle on my way to work be?' It could be important in helping us catch a killer."
Woods said police have no motive at this time for Curry's murder.
