BUNNELL, Fla. -- The Flagler County Sheriff's Office has arrested a parent after they say she started a fight with a teen at her son's bus stop Wednesday morning.
Police arrested Felecia Phillips, 35, on a charge of child abuse and trespassing on school property, according to a news release from Flagler County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Debra Johnson.
Johnson said Phillips went to her son's bus stop near County Road 13 and Railroad Street in Bunnell around 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.
While at the bus stop, Phillips confronted a 17-year-old about a fight the day before between Phillips' son and a friend of his.
Witnesses told police Phillips started to argue with the student. Johnson said the argument escalated when Phillips pushed the teen in the face. The teen then slammed Phillips to the ground moments before the bus arrived.
Phillips then chased the teen onto the bus, Johnson said, where she grabbed the student's hair and started another fight.
While other students were trying to pull the teen onto the bus, the bus driver shouted to Phillips she was trespassing and needed to get off the bus.
After Phillips exited the bus, Johnson said the driver called the Flagler County School District bus garage.
Deputies arrested Phillips at her home around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. Johnson said Phillips was taken to the Flagler County Inmate Facility where she is being held on $2,500 bond.
