JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a pedestrian killed on Mayport Road.
On Monday night at 8:30 p.m., a 2002 Ford F-150 being driven by 20-year-old Bryce Binkley was traveling southbound on Mayport Road near Fairway Villas Lane, according to a traffic crash report from FHP.
A 46-year-old pedestrian, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was walking westbound on Mayport Road in the southbound lane.
The truck struck and killed the pedestrian. The truck's occupants were not injured.
The report said charges are pending an investigation. It is pending as to whether alcohol was a factor in the crash for both the driver and pedestrian.
