JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man has died from injuries as a result of an August scooter accident.
James Roger Belyea, 28, died Wednesday following an August 23 scooter accident in which he struck his head on the pavement.
Belyea lost control of his scooter and slid while traveling southbound in the 3100 block of Huffman Boulevard shortly after 6 p.m. on August 23, according to a release from Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Shannon Hartley.
Belyea was not wearing a helmet when he struck his head on the pavement. He was taken to a local hospital by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department at the time of the accident.
