JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A tire blowout caused a car to overturn into a marsh at the base of the Dames Point Bridge Saturday evening.

Police at the scene said the car was traveling Northbound on I-295 at the foot of the Dames Point Bridge when one of the car's tires blew out.

The car traveled across the grass median separating the interstate from the Heckscher Drive exit ramp.

The car continued across the off-ramp where it overturned into a marsh.

Three people were taken to a local hospital.  Two were taken as a precaution and the third sustained serious injuries.
