WELLBORN, Fla. -- Barn cats that were removed from the Caboodle Ranch in Lee, Fla. are now available for adoption from North Florida Animal Rescue.
These cats have all their shots and have been spayed and microchipped, according to Jerry Garrett, NFAR's director of operations. They are available for an adoption fee of $10, which will be donated to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to offset the cost of the animals' care.
"These are not pets," said Pam Taylor, Director of Rescue and Adoptions. "They're not going to curl up in your lap and purr, but they have been through a lot and deserve a good home where they will be treated kindly and valued for what they have to offer."
If the barn cats are adopted in pairs, the fee will be waived on the second cat.
NFAR will be receiving more cats from the Caboodle Ranch soon, and the next batch of cats will be more suitable as house pets.
