JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man who was hit by a car while riding his motorized wheelchair across Merrill Road has died from an injury sustained in the crash.
Craig Brantley, 50, was traveling east on Merrill Road not within a crosswalk Tuesday around 9:30 p.m. when the front end of a vehicle struck him, according to a release from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Brantley was taken to a local hospital by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department with non-life threatening injuries. On Wednesday just before 1 a.m., Brantley died from an injury he received in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing, JSO said.
