MAYPORT, Fla. -- The back gates at Naval Station Mayport are closed for repair until further notice, according to Mayport's Public Information Officer Bill Austin.
A lightning strike last weekend damaged Gates 5 and 5A, which are off of Florida A1A near Mayport Village.
The main gate will remain open at all times and the Hanna Park/Seminole Road gate will be open Monday-Friday during morning and evening commute times only, Austin said.
