EAST PALATKA, Fla. -- The Putnam County Sheriff's Office has arrested three people on charges they had been manufacturing methamphetamine in a motel room.
Sheriff's deputies responded to a motel in the 200 block of Highway 17 in East Palatka after they received an anonymous tip there was drug activity in one of the rooms.
When deputies got to the hotel, one of the room's occupants gave them consent to search inside.
When law enforcement searched the room they found methamphetamine, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia and a variety of items "commonly used in the production of methamphetamines," according to a news release from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
Police arrested the three occupants of the room, charging them with crimes related to drug possession.
Roxanne Akins, 32, was arrested and charged with drug possession and possession of drug equipment. Akins is being held on $16,508 bond.
32-year-old Timothy Steele was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of drugs - health or safety, one charge of cocaine possession, one count of possession of dangerous drugs, one count of drug possession and one count of possession of drug equipment. Steele's bond has been set at $36,024.
The third suspect, 21-year-old Timothy Toney was arrested and charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug equipment. His bond has been set at $17,508.
All three are still being held in the Putnam County Jail.
