JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office released new information about a SWAT standoff that happened Thursday night on the Westside.
Police identified the man arrested by SWAT team members as Mykhail Abordi. Abordi also uses the alias "Michael Walker," according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office arrest report.
Abordi has been charged with sexual battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police were at Abordi's residence after reports from friends of his girlfriend that they were in fear for her safety.
After the friends alerted police that there may be domestic violence occurring in the home, police made contact with the Abordi's live-in girlfriend.
The woman told police she had been abused both sexually and physically. She told police Abordi's behavior had increasingly become erratic since she began living with him in 2009. According to the report, the woman claims Abordi had boarded up the home's windows from the inside and was in constant possession of a firearm.
The victim told police she had not come forward to report the abuse because she was in fear of her personal safety. She told police at one point when she "talked back," Abordi held the woman at gunpoint and threatened to kill her.
Two weeks ago, one of the victim's friends reported seeing her with a black right eye.
JSO's Intelligence Unit and Bomb Squad attempted to speak with Abordi at his home Thursday night. The victim had told police Abordi kept a rifle close by in case of police intervention.
When they got to his home, he ignited something inside the house the report says. Police set up a perimeter and then arrested Abordi a short time later.
He was taken to the Duval County Pretrial Detention Facility where he is being held on $600,006 bond.
