JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in the vicious attack of a dog named Bo.
Charlotte Streeter, 47, has been arrested for cruelty to animals, intentionally causing a cruel death and unnecessary suffering after she and her son sliced up Bo in June, according to a police report from JSO. Bo was found by residents in the Deep Springs neighborhood.
Streeter was found via a tip turned into Animal Care and Protective Services, which offered a reward leading to the arrest of the person or persons who attacked Bo. Through donations from the public, the reward grew from $500 to $2,100.
The witness who turned Streeter in heard her bragging about slicing up Bo after letting him into her garage due to inclement weather, the police report stated. The witness said the accused attacked Bo for tearing up plastic on a mattress.
"We (expletive) that dog up, we sliced the (expletive) out of that dog. I ain't even worried about the money or the mattress. That dog probably died," Streeter told the witness, according to the report.
Police recovered a blood sample from the garage, as well as an edged weapon from Streeter's bedroom.
Streeter was also arrested for aggravated elderly adult abuse and aggravated battery on a person 65 years of age or older.
