The Olympics are right around the corner -- but what do you think about adding pole dancing to the games? The International Pole Sports Foundation has already taken steps to be recognized by the Olympic Committee.
According to Time Magazine , they have drawn up an official rule book for pole dancing. The Pole Sports Foundation is quick to say that this type of dancing won't include nudity and high heels.
They argue that it is indeed a sport. It takes strength and agility. The President of the International Pole Sports Foundation says that while most people think that pole fitness originated in strip clubs, it started well before that.
Pole dancing has popped up in gyms across the country as the new hot fitness routine. Thousands of dancers across the world train to compete.
Once the group meets all the Olympic requirements, it can draft an official petition for consideration.
The World Pole Championship is being held in London, England on July 19 and 20. That's one week before the Olympic Games begin.
They start on July 27. Pole dancing is not included this year.
