At least 17 people have been wounded - four critically -- after a gunman opened fire on a crowded bar in Tuscaloosa, Ala., the Associated Press reports.
The Tuscaloosa News reports that the gunman began firing into the Cooper Top bar in the city's Temerson square area.
Around 80 people were inside drinking and playing pool at the time, the newspaper says.
The newspaper quotes an unidentified source close to the investigation as saying events elsewhere in downtown Tuscaloosa earlier may have led to the shooting, but does not elaborate.
Video released by police show a man from the back as he walks down a sidewalk with what appears to be a gun in one hand. Police describe him as the suspect in the shootings.
