It's hard to overstate what a vibrant classic cars community we have on the First Coast. On almost any weekend you can find a show or cruise-in with dozens or even hundreds of first rate classics on display.
At case in point: Saturday's First Coast Council cruise-in at 445 State Rd. 13 and Race Track Rd. at the old Food Lion Shopping Center in Fruit Cove.
Among the cars was a 1948 Packard Deluxe Eight Club Sedan, owned by Don McBride of Arlington. He bought the Deluxe about a year ago in Leesburg. In McBride's words a former owner "resurrected" the car in New Mexico, where it was a rusted out hulk.
You'll find a series of photos of McBride's Packard in the slideshow. It's the yellow car with the gray roof with the side hinged hood, which is the second car featured in the slideshow
