JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man pleaded guilty on Thursday to receiving videos and images depicting child pornography over the Internet, according to a release from U.S. Attorney Robert E. O'Neill.

Joaquin Manuel Marrero, 22, now faces a $250,000 fine, a maximum of 20 years in prison and a potential life term of supervised release.

According to the release from O'Neill, Marrero was named in criminal information after an undercover agent with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations (ICE HSI) tracked an IP address that was hosting child pornography to Marrero's residence.

A federal search was executed at Marrero's home on March 22, during which agents seized a USB thumb drive, a desktop computer and a laptop computer.

An examination of these items revealed that the thumb drive had 125 child porn videos and the desktop computer contained 116 videos. The files were downloaded by Marrero via an Internet file sharing program, according to the release.

The case against Marrero was brought about as part of Project Safe Childhood. It was investigated by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and ICE HSI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney D. Rodney Brown.
