ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office is looking for at least one person after an alleged armed robbery Thursday afternoon.

At 5 p.m. Thursday afternoon sheriff's deputies were called to the Hampton Inn on County Road 208 after reports of a robbery, according to a news release from St. Johns County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Catherine Payne.

The clerk told police a man came into the hotel lobby, walked up to him and then pistol whipped him.

Payne said the suspect fled the area in a light or creme colored, 4-door passenger vehicle with dark tinted windows.

The suspect is described as a black male, mid-20's to mid-30's, approximately 5'8", wearing black pants and a white shirt.  The man appeared to be with a white female who had blonde hair and was wearing jeans and a turquoise colored top.

The hotel clerk had to be taken to Flagler Hospital by St. Johns Fire Rescue to be treated for injuries.

Anyone with information regarding this incident should call the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office at 904-824-8305 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477).
