PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. -- Authorities say the body of a missing Mississippi swimmer has been found along a Florida Panhandle beach.

Panama City Beach police say the body of Tainarien Elliott of New Albany, Miss., was found Wednesday morning along the shore.

Elliott disappeared while swimming Monday afternoon. Police tell The News Herald that Elliott had entered the waters off Panama City Beach to save a friend of his but got caught in a rip current himself.

An autopsy is pending.
