INTERLACHEN, Fla. -- A misfired firework at the Interlachen fireworks show caused a small fire Wednesday night.

When a firework misfired, it failed to go as high as it was supposed to. The firework went over a small lake and came down in the woods according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

Sparks from the firework went into the woods and started two fires.  Both were quickly extinguished by firefighters were already on scene.

After the fire was put out, the fireworks show continued after about a 15- to 20-minute delay.

When the fire initially started it was the size of a campfire, but soon grew to five or six times that size.

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said no one was injured and that due to there being the right personnel there at the right time, the situation was handled quickly.
