JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Coast Guard and several local agencies are searching for a missing swimmer in the Nassau Sound near Bird Island.
According to the Coast Guard, watchstanders in Jacksonville were notified by a good Samaritan that the missing male and his wife were swimming when the male got swept offshore by the current and went underwater.
The Coast Guard said it received the report at approximately 12:50 p.m. Saturday.
The name of the missing swimmer is not being released at this time.
