PONTE VEDRA, Fla. -- Rain from Tropical Storm Debby walloped Ponte Vedra Beach, and one fireworks stand can attest to the downpour.
The fireworks stand on A1A by Walgreens flooded. It sits in a grassy area.
Tom Outley, a fireworks salesman, said it happened in less than 24 hours this week.
A pump pushed the water out of the fireworks tent Tuesday.
Outley described the water as "half way to your knee" inside the tent, but he said that 95 percent of the fireworks are still fine and "good and dry."
He plans to open again when the ground is dry, possibly Friday.
Outley -- who is also a minister -- laughed and said he prayed for rain so people could use fireworks, now he's praying for it to stop raining.
"God must be getting a good laugh out of this!"
A rain gauge at a St. Johns County office in Ponte Vedra reported about 20 inches of rain in the last couple of days.
