Former Jacksonville City Council president Webb arrested on DUI charges

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Former City Council President Jack Webb was arrested over the weekend on two DUI charges, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office police report.

John Daniel "Jack" Webb, 49, backed into a woman's Pontiac G8 with his Ford truck on Saturday night. Webb told police he was at Kori Road at San Jose Boulevard when he backed into the Pontiac.

Not wanting to make a right turn on to San Jose Boulevard from the stop sign on Kori Road, Webb told police he backed up, which is when he backed into the Pontiac.

Webb said to police he had about three beers at a bar, according to the report. Webb was given a field sobriety test Saturday night, and "exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested," according to the report. Webb rated his impairment as a "1.3" on the scale of 1-10.

He was transported and booked into the was released Sunday morning on $5,006 bond, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Department of Corrections website.
