JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police are investigating after a body was found on the Southside.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit responded to a call in the 3700 block of Philips Highway.

According to JSO, a man out walking his dog discovered the body behind a business complex late Sunday night.

The witness told investigators that his dog started acting weird, then ran into the woods.

That's where the dog stumbled across the body.

Police say they can't tell yet if it's a man or woman, or the age of the victim. They believe the body has been there for a while.

Melissa Buejda, Public Information for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, said at this time police do suspect foul play.
