JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A new song parody on the Duval County Courthouse blunder is getting noticed. John Scott of 99.1 WQIK put the song together.
"With everything at the courthouse, sometimes this comedy moment just opens itself for parody," Scott said.

Finally got it done till it all looked like a go. But the inspector said no. Are you gonna open or not? Is this court in order or what? I like the new furniture a lot. You know you're the laughing stock. Are you gonna open or what?"

Scott and the Jacksonville's Big Show crew were talking about the courthouse blunder when the idea hit him.
"And I was playing the Thompson square song 'Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not' and at the same time it kind of rolled through my brain - 'is this gonna open or not?' And so we went ahead and wrote it pretty quickly so I'm glad it's catching on."
Locals seemed to respond well to the song. "I knew there had to be a parody about this," one man said. When asked if he thought it would get a lot of hits, another man said, "Oh yeah, yeah. I think a lot of people are pretty bitter about that."
As for future parodies, Scott said they make them quite often.
"We try to do it about once a week -- whatever's topical, whatever's happening. Something just pops in my mind while I'm mowing the yard," he said.
Meantime, the courthouse still doesn't have grass.
