JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A man who was killed early Monday morning in a motorcycle accident has been identified by the Florida Highway Patrol.
Andrew Volz, 27, was killed in the fatal crash, which shut down two northbound lanes of Interstate 95 for about four hours.
The crash happened in the northbound lanes of I-95 between University Boulevard and Emerson Street around 2:30 a.m.
Volz was traveling northbound on I-95 in the inside lane and then entered the emergency lane, according to an FHP report.
The left front side of Volz's motorcycle struck the concrete barrier and Volz was ejected from the motorcycle, landing in the inside northbound lane of I-95. Volz was pronounced dead by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
